The Foundation Bursary
The main objectives of the Hans Merensky Foundation are to promote and assist in the development of resources (particularly soil, water, minerals, flora and fauna) in South Africa and neighbouring territories; and to promote the health and welfare of the inhabitants, specifically through research, experimentation and demonstration and through the correlation and application of scientific knowledge.
In order to meet these objectives, the Hans Merensky Foundation provides financial assistance to post-graduate students at selected tertiary institutions in South Africa.
Students wishing to apply for this bursary must be registered at one of the selected tertiary institutions and their course of study must be aligned in some way with the Foundation's main objective.
The Forestry and Horticulture Industries Education Fund (FHIEF)
The Forestry and Horticulture Industries Education Fund (FHIEF) provides funds for full-time study leading to a degree, diploma or certificate in any area of study at any recognised tertiary institution, including correspondence studies.
The beneficiaries of this Fund are the offspring of employees who work for Merensky on a full-time basis. The main intention is to provide financial assistance for post-matriculation studies to the children of permanent employees in the lower-income groups.
